The Coalition of Labor Union Women was founded on this date in Chicago
by 3,000 women trade unionists from 58 labor organizations. The
coalition was created to promote equal rights and better wages and
working conditions for women workers. Today there are tens of thousands
of CLUW members in 75 chapters throughout the United States. (From Workday Minnesota)
