Keith Johnson, an ally of Arne Duncan, Eli Broad and Robert Bobb (the guy who wants to increase class sizes to 60 students), is claiming victory in the recent runoff election for president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers (DFT). His opponent, Steve Conn, is demanding a recount. Johnson won by only 41 votes, out of more than 4000 cast. There is also an investigation of irregularities in the DFT elections, with hundreds of members’ votes being thrown out.
Adding to the array of irregularities, Judge Julia Stern recently admitted to illegally interfering in the runoff election in a way that favored Johnson over Conn.
Johnson is an AFT insider and long-time boss of DFT. He was responsible for the despicable contract DFT negotiated last year that gave up wage and benefits cuts and loss of seniority rights.
The recount has Conn losing too. He's just a sore loser. How on earth could he negotiate a contract when he can't even control himself at a membership meeting? Don't fall for his lies and deception.

Maybe a hot head union boss who's willing to fight could get a better contract than a chickenshit one who'll sell out his members so quickly???
